“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
We don’t know what will lie ahead of us. We can’t see into the future. The unknown can lead many to stress and worry. The one thing as believers we know is that God will be with us and He will meet all of our needs. God is already in our tomorrows and His Word promises to care for us. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV) It says all your anxiety; everything that might cause you worries and stress. Jesus loves you so much that He will take care of everything for you.
Can we put into words or quantify what Jesus’ care means? God’s Word tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) God promises in this verse to care for you; for those things that most of us worry about.
God says He has plans to prosper you. We sometimes worry about how we will get by with what we see in the world. But God says He will prosper you; your health, your heart, your home. He will cause you to have peace about tomorrow. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV)
God says there will be no harm to you. God is your protector. ““Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.” (Psalm 91:14 NIV) God is Jehovah-Nissi, our banner of love and protection. God is Jehovah-Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts, our protector.
God says He has plans for you. “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” (Ephesians 1:11 NKJV) Our hope is in Christ. “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27 NIV) And God has a future for you. “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6 NIV)
Friend, the new year is a mystery, but we do not have to be afraid. God is with us. “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV) Our futures are bright as God leads us into our tomorrows. God’s hand is with us. He orders our steps. When we pray this year, let’s ask God to guide and direct our steps each day and to give us an understanding of God’s great power over what lies ahead of us. Let’s you and I walk in Victory with God.
Dear Lord, thank You that You hold the key to all things. Thank You that You guide and lead us. We are confident in Your plans for us. Thank You that You will meet all of what we need. That we do not have to worry, but simply trust in You. Let us take Your hand and walk with You. We rejoice for where You will lead us. We give You praise. In Jesus Name. AMEN
Don’t believe me, believe God!
