Jeremiah 29:11 NIV – And the Lord said, “You ARE living your dreams.”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Last night, while I was thinking and thanking God for the day, God revealed something very clear to my spirit.  It wasn’t an audible voice, but a thought was imparted into my heart.  God said, “You ARE living your dreams.”  What a loving and confirming word.

I’ve asked God many times to lead me in His will and the steps He has ordered for me.  I’ve asked God this because I am a man who likes to take the lead.  But almost always that gets me into trouble.  So I ask God, what do You want or where is it that I should go?  I always want to be where God is.  I desire to walk hand in hand with God because God establishes our way.

I am sure you have heard people say that they too, are living a dream.  It’s usually a response to the question, “How are you doing?”  But God imparted into my spirit that I AM living my dreams.  Hallelujah!!!  This caused me to meditate on what God has done in my life and why I need to hold on to the promise in Jeremiah 29:11.

Fourteen years ago God lifted me up out of the miry clay and gave me new life.  “He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.” (Psalm 40:2 NKJV)  I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.  From that moment on, God established my steps.  God led me to understand who He is by His Word.  The Lord taught me how to have conversation with Him in prayer.  I say that He taught me because He gave me understanding how much He loves me, so I didn’t have to worry about the words I was saying.  When I began to pray, it became natural.  No condemnation, no pushing me away.  God was always there ready to hear.

I learned that God had a purpose for me and that the ministry of prayer was going to play a major role in my life.  So I sought God.  I called upon His name.  And He answered.  I cried out to Him and He heard me.  Jeremiah 29:12-13 follows on to say, “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  That’s what I did.  God never disappoints.  When you seek Him with all your heart, you will find that God comes running towards you.

“Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Well, amen to that.  Thus sayeth the Lord!!!  Those were my dreams, my plans, and my future.  I didn’t know where God would take me, but I knew I could trust Him.  Proverbs 28:25 says, “But he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered.”  That He would watch over me and protect me and prosper me.  Now don’t misunderstand what I am writing.  I didn’t say that I would never find myself in a situation of distress.  I do from time to time.  We live in a world of heartache, distress, and disappointment.  But I know that God loves me so much that when I find myself in a place of heartache, distress, and disappointment, He’s right there with me.  God is walking with me through whatever I am facing.

Friend, I don’t take lightly what God imparted to me last night.  God, the Creator of the Universe, who establishes my comings and goings, declared that I AM living my dreams.  God captured a man with no future in 1999 and brought me to a special place; living out God’s will for my life.  And I know, that I know, that I know that if I remain in the center of God’s will, there is no better place on earth I’d rather be.  Do you want to know from God if you are living your dreams?  I can tell you that a life outside of serving the Lord and calling Jesus your Savior, will not lead you to your dreams.  You might think it will, but for 44 years I was in that place.  I was going nowhere but backwards or I was spinning my wheels.  The only place where you can live out your dreams is in the presence and the power of God.  That place is called salvation.  And it’s free.  You don’t have to pay membership dues to get the perks.  Money won’t get you into this place.  The only way is Jesus.  Your dreams can be fulfilled in a relationship with Jesus.  Ask Jesus to be Your Lord and Savior.  All you need to do is believe that He died for your sins and rose from the grave to defeat your sins and your eternal death.  John 3:16 says, “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Romans 10:9 says, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

To think that I would be where I am right now fourteen years ago, back then would have been impossible.  But God makes the impossible, possible.  There is nothing God loves more than keeping promises, answering prayers, performing miracles, and fulfilling dreams.  That is who He is.  That is what He does.  Pray with me right now.

Dear Lord, I thank You that before time began You had a plan for me; a plan to prosper me and not to harm me; a plan to give me hope and a future.  Thank You Lord, for loving me so much that it is important to You that I live out my dreams.  Thank You Lord, for all of what You have accomplished in me.  It is not my work, but Your will for my life.  You have guided and established my ways.  You have blessed me beyond measure.  Thank You Lord.  Lord, there are those who don’t know or understand what I have.  Lord, today, I ask You to draw them to You.  I ask You to soften their hearts to receive You.  Lord, I pray for them right now.  Be the lifter of their heads.  Be their Lord and Savior.  Lord, I can’t accept Your forgiveness for them, but Lord, I ask that You bring them to a place of forgiveness; that they would give You their lives.  Lord You make the impossible, possible.  Bring everyone who reads this devotion into Your family; into Your presence; into Your love.  In Jesus Name.  AMEN.

Don’t believe me, believe God!
