But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
The Lord is in every “detail” of your life. Hallelujah!!! The Lord’s hand is on every detail no matter how small we think it is. The Lord’s care for us covers everything. Did you know that God reigns over ALL creation and that His will is the final cause of all things? Did you get that? It’s His will that is the final cause. So I want you to think about that statement for just a little bit.
So has anyone else found themselves thinking about those times when you realized that even though you didn’t think God’s hand was upon you, it was? A few have come to my mind while thinking about what I was going to write. The incidents in my life happened and I hadn’t prayed. I didn’t even feel I put any thought about seeking the Lord and yet when it was done, I had been blessed beyond measure. Some of those times I received an answer to a question I had been pondering for a while. And even times when the Lord poured out His protection and covered both myself and my wife. God is in the business of details. He is sovereign over the minutest details of life. Just what our Scripture verse says.
Now if the Lord knows the very hairs of your head, how is it we sometimes think we have all the answers or we can work things out ourselves? Hello? Is anyone hearing me? No condemnation here, but seriously? The Lord sustains all life and even the universe. Everything around us would come to a cataclysmic end if the Lord did not sustain all things. He provides every need to every creature and is willing to keep on sustaining so that His will can be completed and His purpose established. Folks, it’s not about us!
The Lord is not passive or remote from His creation. The Lord was and is dynamically involved in all the He has made. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-3 NKJV) So if we know by His Word that the Lord is involved in every aspect of our lives, why is it we decide to walk outside of His will for our lives? Or even why is it we don’t believe the Lord can understand our needs when we pray? Or worse yet, why is it we pray with doubt? Why is it that we let doubt even have any foothold in our lives?
I think it’s probably a trust issue. I think that we all have been let down and abandoned by the world from time to time so that we find it hard to trust anything. Even hard to trust the Lord. But listen to me. It’s Jesus who will bring the entire work of creation to perfection. “He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans He took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in Him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.” (Ephesians 1:9-10 The Message)
Friend, let’s go back to our foundations Scripture verse. The Lord is alert to all of our needs. The Lord is actively involved in our continual care and He is aware of everything that is happening or will happen to us. He is our Shepherd. The Lord’s watchfulness means that He hears all of our prayers. “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.” (1 Peter 3:12 NKJV) Our lives, our security are never threatened. He loves us with an everlasting love and there is nothing that can change His love for us. Nothing! Proverbs 28:25 (NIV) says, “But those who trust in the Lord will prosper.”
Precious Lord, You are greater than our minds can imagine. Lord, You know every detail of our life; big or small. Lord, You are sovereign over all things. Thank You Lord for watching over us and caring for us with an everlasting love. Help us Lord trust You in all things. Thank You that You are not far from us and that You know our every thought. Forgive us Lord when we think we got everything covered. Transform us Lord in our belief that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. We love You Lord and give You praise. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
Don’t believe me, believe God!
