In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
I give credit to today’s Prayer Devotion to my wonderful and beautiful wife, Nancy. She had this on her heart and she shared this with me. I am forever grateful.
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior has eternal benefits. Jesus says here He goes to prepare a place for you in Heaven. He loves us so much that Jesus prepares the place. Jesus is the One who takes His own to heaven to spend eternity with Him. He receives us to Himself where we will be with each other forever. What a wonderful and comforting thought. Eternal rest is the absence of trouble, sorrow, pain, tribulation, and even death. And it is promised to believers as an inheritance from God. Eternal rest means we will be forever in the presence of God. “Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.” (Revelation7:5 NKJV) Hallelujah!!!
As Nancy talked to me about this she told me it came about from a thought that came into her mind. The thought was this, “I know where my home is…heaven.” When I heard this, my heart seemed to jump. A thought that gives the believer a great sense of peace and joy. Nancy is absolutely correct, as believers in Jesus Christ, saved by His precious blood, we know where are home is. Not an earthly home, but our eternal home.
Peace is a birthright of every believer and found only in God; maintained through having a close personal relationship with Him. Just thinking about Nancy’s thought transforms the situations and circumstances that we all face and brings them into God’s glorious presence. A “take your breath away” moment. Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you…I will come again and receive you to Myself…that where I am, there you may be also.”
Heaven is the secure inheritance. Its value is priceless. It awaits the redeemed. There, faithful service will be rewarded and the redeemed will be give resurrection bodies for service to God in the heavenly realm, forever and ever and ever. Can you imagine? No, we can’t. But we can ensure that heaven is where our home is. And that’s acknowledging that we need a Savior and His name is Jesus. So the question must be asked. Do you want to know where your eternal home is? Do you want to know that Jesus is preparing a place for you so that you and Jesus can spend eternity together? Do you want to know that if you died today, you’d be in heaven with Jesus?
Well, you can. It starts with a humble prayer that acknowledges that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. You can pray that prayer today if you choose. Yes, you have a choice. But let me encourage you to choose wisely. One day you will want to hear, “‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
Thank you, Nancy, for sharing with us what I believe the Lord wanted someone to read. Friend, if you feel this message is just for you, you may be correct. I don’t know. But one thing I know for sure is that Jesus died for all of us, including you and wants to have a relationship with you. One that lasts into eternity with Him in the home He has prepared just for you. Please pray.
Dear Jesus. I am a sinner and I want to know that I will spend eternity with you after my life here on earth is done. I believe Jesus that You died for my sins and arose from the grave to defeat sin and eternal death once and for all. That means for me. I desire Jesus to call You my Lord and Savior. Come into my life and save me, restore me, renew me, and clean me up. I give You my life and promise to live for You. Thank You for Your eternal and everlasting love for me. In Jesus Name. AMEN
If you humbly prayed this prayer and want to know more about Jesus and the truth of His Word, contact a Pastor in your town and tell him all about it. I believe God will lead you to the exact Pastor He wants you to contact. God bless you, friend.
Don’t believe me, believe God!
