So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
I know where my help comes. It comes by the Lord. There is nothing that the world can promise, nothing that the world can devise that will change my heart. My help is near and His name is Jesus! Some are tempted by the love of money and power and status. They seek their security in financial resources. But God says, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5 NKJV)
My confident stand reaffirms that the Lord is my helper. And this knowledge sets me free from all kinds of fear. I am assured of my safety as God promises to keep His people from all lasting spiritual and physical danger. But we must act responsibly. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NKJV) From time to time there will certainly be opposition, but the point is that it lacks the ability to destroy my faith. “For us” expresses the eternal commitment of God’s almighty love.
Our ultimate security is to be found in God alone. “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, “Destroy!”” (Deuteronomy 33:27 NKJV) In contrast to human strength, God is the source and supplier of all spiritual strength through which believers can do all the God asks. It is God who gives us strength. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10 NKJV) Strength comes from the promise of His presence. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord Your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NKJV) Strength comes through the Holy Spirit. “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16 NKJV)
Friend, I invite you to join me in declaring that “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear!” I have found that I can trust always in the strength and help of the Lord. I have recently taken one particular Scripture and have carried it with me. It says, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV) I’ve shared with you the video here before. It says all that needs to say about where our help is. God bless you.
Dear Jesus, thank You that You are our helper. Thank You that we shall not fear. No matter what we face, You are near. What can man do to us? God it is You who is the source of our strength and strength comes in the promise of Your presence. Pour out Your strength upon us, Holy Spirit. Anoint us today, O Lord! We declare that the Lord is my helper and we will not fear. In Jesus Name. AMEN
Don’t believe me, believe God!
