Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
If I have learned anything in my life it is that people change. People are in constant change. They change the way they think. They change the way they look. They change the things they eat. They are looking constantly at what is the most popular trend and then embark on a journey to be like the new trend, only to find out that the trend changed again. They are in a constant battle to be something or someone else. Though people pass from trend to trend, from scene to scene, Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. He is our strong anchor, in whom we can place our trust.
The purposes and plans of God do not change. His love is constant. He does not revoke His promises. And His word does not change. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8 NKJV) The total reliability and constancy of Jesus Christ is shown in His personal character, and is made known by His words and His works. Jesus is faithful because He is the truth. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14 NKJV)
We don’t need to find the newest trend by buying a fashion magazine or looking it up on the internet. We can look to God’s Word and the truth within it. The person and the deity of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is detailed in His Word. And His Word will never change. If we want to live a life that is constant and does not jump from fad to fad we need to find Jesus. If we want to live a life that is guided by the truth and not by the opinions of the so called “experts”, then we need to find Jesus. If we want to live a life that is secure and not in doubt about whether we fit in, then we need to find Jesus.
Friend, if you want to make a choice to follow the truth, His Name is Jesus. He has a plan already established for you. He knew you before time began and loves you with an everlasting love. And His desire is to establish your steps that leads to eternal life. Jesus won’t lead you on a path that jumps from fad to fad. But you need to believe and ask Jesus to take your hand and lead you on His path. You need to trust Him and believe. Will you pray today?
Dear Jesus, I often wander from fad to fad, from trend to trend, to find out how to live a life that others will approve of. I find myself in a constant battle to find what is real and what is true. Your Bible says that You are the way, the truth, and the life. I want that consistency in my life. I don’t want to wander any longer. Jesus will You guide and direct my life? I place my faith and trust in You. I want to live a life led by Your will and Your way. I want to be where You are. Come into my life Jesus and be my Lord and Savior. Forgive my sins and begin a change in me. I believe that I need You and that You are the Way. Take my life and let it be. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
Don’t believe me, believe God!
