Isaiah 40:29 NKJV – Strength to the weak

He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Hallelujah for this promise from God. The design of this verse was to help and give consolation to the afflicted, the down-trodden people of Babylon, by recalling to their minds the truth that it was one of the characteristics of God Himself. This is one of God’s attributes and therefore we should put our trust in Him and look to God for help in our time of need. This truth is as relevant now as it was then.

We are human and sometimes as humans the affairs and struggles of the world weight us down. We walk as though we carry a very heavy load. Listen, there are times that I feel the weight of just staying on course with life. The enemy would want us to be weighted down so much that we would not be able to stand. But this verse reminds us where our strength lies. In our weakness lies power; the Power of God! God gives us His Power to those who “have no might”. “Have no might” means we have no strength to move, no strength to get up, no strength to get on with life, no strength to stand under its weight. But Hallelujah, we can receive the Power of God to keep on keepin on. To get up and get going. The Power of God is sufficient. It is abundant and plentiful.

Lord God, thank You for Your Power and strength when we are weak. Thank You that we can put our trust in You. Help us Lord to hold Your Word deep in our hearts so that when we need it we can partake in it. May we look to Your Power to pick us up and get us going again. Our desire is to honor You with our lives. For You deserve the glory and the honor.   In Jesus Name. AMEN.

Don’t believe me, believe God!
