He will supply

And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. (Luke 12:29-31 NKJV)

In the times we are living right now, with the world being such a volatile and changing place, people place their faith on the things of survival. Food, shelter, clothing, water, etc. That is what we have been taught since childhood. We were taught that someday we would be old enough to care for ourselves. That we would get a job and use that income to buy those things that would help keep us alive. I learned the same lesson. What I found out when I got older, is that it got more difficult to meet all of my needs and that often times, those that I trusted to provide, let me down. That’s my testimony. It may not be yours, but there is only so much we ourselves can do.

But here Jesus is teaching us to not place our faith on the things of the world or our own efforts to survive, but rather on His Kingdom. Our Heavenly Father, the God of all Creation, sees all that we face and knows all that we desire. He is our provider. God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil 4:19 NKJV)

Friend, there is so much to worry about now in our world. We need that place where we can release that worry and come into the presence and promises of God. I know that I cannot change the world by any effort of my own, but I also know that God hears my prayers when I seek Him. When I pray to God about my needs, He always blesses me when the answer comes and I realize that I have been overly blessed. It may not be able to be counted by the world’s standards, but God’s standards exceed anything the world can give me.

Dear God, thank You that You care for us. That when we seek You, You hear and know and supply all of our needs. This is a promise in Your Word. We can believe that regardless of what we are facing, You know, You care, You provide. Help us Lord, to trust in You and take the time to seek You. In Your precious Name Jesus. AMEN.

Don’t believe me, believe God!

Matthew 6:33 NKJV – Begin in me, Lord.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Change my mindset so that prayer becomes my first response in every situation. May I seek You in ALL things.” (www.onecry.com) That is my cry as well. It’s a cry for my own spiritual awakening as I look up to the God of Creation. “Change me and my mind, Lord, so that the time I spend with You in prayer is ALWAYS my first choice.”

Each day I find myself seeking and crying out to God more and more. I see the world before me and I am grieved. I am broken. I don’t share this with you to earn any acknowledgement for myself. I share this with you for God’s glory because God gave me something that has remained with me for a long time. It’s God who is doing the work in me. Let me tell you where this began.

One particular night as I was sleeping I had a dream. And in that dream I saw myself being taken up above the clouds to like where jets would fly. Not unlike what you would see outside from an airplane window. The difference, I felt it was God Himself carrying me. I even spoke to God and said, “Lord, take me higher so that I can see what You see.” The dream was short but it has remained in my mind from that night on. I remember praying after that dream, “Lord, open my eyes so that I can see what You see.” So I have been “seeing”. I’ve noticed things that might have slipped by before. I see the world and its incredible need for a Savior.

But I fully realize that revival starts in me. I need to remember that while I was yet a sinner, Jesus died for me. It was MY SIN He carried to the cross. It was MY SIN that caused the nails to be driven. I cry out, “Change me, Lord! Start with me, Lord!”

Prayer brings me into a conversation with God that connects my heart with His heart. I desire for God to break me, humble me, challenge me, convict me. I’ve thanked Him for each breath I breathe and each step I take. I want the glory and fame of Jesus Christ to become my greatest passion and desire. And I believe prayer is the pathway to the glory of God.

My friend, as we pray for God to bring revival, let us never forget where revival needs to begin. It needs to begin in us. In our hearts and in our minds. In every part of our being. If we continue to pursue God as hard and as active as He pursues us, then revival will come. All for the glory of God.

Holy God, I stand before You seeking revival. Revival in me, Lord. You’ve given me a heart for prayer, but Lord, I understand that there can be nothing between You and me that would interfere with Your Holy Spirit. Forgive me Lord for when I set aside Your righteousness and seek my own. It’s You Lord! Only You Lord! Strengthen me Lord to walk in Your ways. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
